Celebrating
THE LIFE OF
Gregory Anthony sadler
July 1960 - september 2024
Obituary
Our beloved brother, Gregory Anthony Sadler. Gregory was born on July 27th, 1960, to Herbert Louis Sadler, Sr. and Helen Juanita Sadler peacefully departed on Monday morning, September 2nd, 2024, at 9:27 am. Throughout his life, Gregory faced challenges due to a disabling ailment that caused seizures and impacted his development. Despite these struggles, he found solace and joy in music, particularly in singing. His favorite songs, "I’ll Never Forget," "The Storm Is Passing Over," and "Holy Holy Holy," held a special place in his heart, having learned them during his childhood while attending church with his family. His voice also graced the Prayer Tower Church Choir, where he sang alongside his siblings.
As Gregory grew older, he lived with his father, Herbert Louis Sadler, Sr., and despite his disability, he remained independent and devotedly worked for the New Haven Church under the guidance of the late Henry West, Sr., Ira Coward and now Henry West, Jr. These men recognized Gregory's loving nature and his deep desire to share his faith.
We will always cherish the love, humor, and profound statements that Gregory shared with us. His absence leaves a void that can’t be filled, but we take comfort in knowing that he rests in the embrace of our Lord and Savior until his eyes are opened by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Gregory is survived by his siblings: Gwendolyn Juanita Williams, Herbert Lewis Sadler, Jr., Cornell Jerome Sadler, Helen Marie Marshall, Derrick Ethan Sadler, and Brandon Zeron Fields. He also leaves behind his nephews, Rubbin Sadler and Otheniel Israel, and nieces Grace Turner, Jennifer Downs, Wendy Marshall, Rachel Marshall, and many beloved great nephews and nieces who cherished him dearly.

Forever in Our Hearts
We will always cherish your corny jokes, warm smiles, and infectious laughter. Your presence in our childhood was priceless. You patiently taught each of us how to play chess and checkers. We spent endless hours reading comic books and watching cartoons with your big bowl of cereal. These are memories we will forever hold dear in our hearts. Although our hearts ache, they are also filled with joy because we know you in heaven playing chess and checkers with the angels. We love you, Uncle Gregory.
Love, your nieces and nephews
